Battery is most vital component of a handheld gagdet like smartphone, tablet pc. The most outstanding gadget technology will have no meaning if it does not have the battery to power it up. We need more longer battery power to enjoy the outstanding feature of smartphone or tablet pc. This is remind me of the battery problem with iPhone 4S. Many user complaining of shorter battery life of iPhone 4S than it should be and this is very annoying.

However I would like to share just for your  information about the types of battery from first to last generation below.

  1. NiCD. This is is first generation type of mobile battery . The battery has large-capacity and  suitable for the large-powered old type of mobile phones. According to the size and capacity, the process of charging time was quite a hassle. For example, the recharging should be start at the moment of battery out or empty. Because the NiCD batteries have memory effect. Whenever the battery is having the power, you should not recharge it until the battery is really out of power. If you don't follow this procedure, the battery will having shorter life.
  2. NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride). The next generation is the NiMH. This rechargeable batteries have memory effect but still is only temporary. So it's more flexible than NiCD types. You don't have to wait for the battery are right out of power, but the consequences it  will be quickly depleted. However this only lasted a while, when the battery is really run out of power, then its capacity will back to normal again.
  3. Li-ion (Lithium Ion). This type is different rather than two generations earlier, this types is no longer have a memory effect. So You can recharge the battery without waiting for the battery runs out. However this Li-ion battery has shorter life cycle. Even if you recharge it longer than usual time, the battery will lose its capacity, rather than NiCD or NiMH.
  4. Li-Po (Lithium Polymer). This is the most recent generation of rechargeable batteries. In addition to eco-friendly, its superiority over the battery Li-ion. Just like Li-ion,  you don't need to wait until it runs out to recharge this battery. But this battery needs extra careful treatment due to its liquid material, a harsh pressure can cause a battery change of form. The weakness of Li-Po is that it don't wait until the phone turns off by itself to recharge. Just recharge it as soon as possible when the mobile phone battery warning comes out. Otherwise, the phone will be difficult to be turn on because the battery has not been recovered fully.
