RIM today announced the launch of its BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. The new operating system includes many of the features that users were hoping to find in the 1.0 version, including a native e-mail client with a unified inbox, and built-in calendar and contacts applications, although still no BlackBerry Messenger application.

PlayBook users will now have of what features they were hoping for in the first version through recently released Playbook OS 2.0. Research In Motion's BlackBerry PlayBook OS 1.0 was criticized for a general lack of built-in features like Blackberry Mesenger. With this new software update, the BlackBerry engineer is trying to complete that lack.

RIM made the odd decision in the PlayBook OS 1.0 software to not include native e-mail, calendar, or contacts applications. So in case users want to access to them, they would need to have a BlackBerry smartphone and connect that device to their Playbook tablet.

Although PlayBook owners will now have much of what they were hoping for in the first version, they're not getting everything. BlackBerry Messenger, which allows users to instant-message each other from one BlackBerry device to another, is still absent from the software.

In the platform's calendar and contacts apps, RIM has added social integration, courtesy of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The software's updated BlackBerry Bridge application, which lets a BlackBerry smartphone and the PlayBook communicate over Bluetooth, now includes a remote control feature, allowing owners to use their handsets as a wireless keyboard and mouse.

There is one major improvement of this BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 software includes support for certain Android applications. Well at least user has the option to update to BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 now as a free download after waiting for so long.

The gap between mobile gadgets and desktop pc soon will be no more, as we know that Microsoft and Apple has been working on developing new OS integration between mobile gadget and desktop pc. So we will see the dream of desktops pc to get more mobile is become reality soon.

The fast growth of mobile gadgets like smartphones and tablets has made the computer makers rethinking what goes into their desktop operating systems. Especially there are big players like Microsoft and Apple are taking significant measures to address the success of mobile on their next desktop operating systems by making them closer to their smaller counterparts.

So let's begin with Apple's new version of OS X, which made its debut earlier today in the form of a preview to developers. Apple's calling it Mountain Lion, and as the name would suggest, it's not a stern-to-stem overhaul, as much as some refining and additions to what the company did with Lion last year.

Apple's core idea with Mountain Lion is to take some of the built-in software people have been using on their iPhones and iPads and make it available on the Mac, all the while keeping everything in sync behind the scenes. Where Lion took steps to borrow the look and feel of certain mobile apps, Mountain Lion just takes some of the bigger set pieces from iOS outright.

There are likely to be changes made to Mountain Lion before it ships. But what we do know is that there are at least 10 big additions coming with OS X 10.8. Most of them are features that people have already been using on Apple's other big platform, and they focus on unifying communication between the two otherwise disparate operating systems.

One of the clearest examples of that is the new Messages software, which will replace the decade-old iChat. It's compatible with iOS 5's iMessage feature, meaning users on both platforms can chat with one another regardless of what device they're on.

Apple's also carried over its storage and syncing service iCloud, surfacing it in Finder and making it easier to access files shared with iCloud-enabled iOS apps. A new Notification Center pulls app and program notifications together in under one banner not unlike Growl. There's also a Game Center to port iOS-style gaming to the Mac, new sharing features for iOS-style social sharing of Tweets, photos, and Web pages, and AirPlay Mirroring, which will broadcast whatever's on your Mac to an Apple TV.

Apple has not taken the Mac security threats from the past year lying down, either. The new Gatekeeper feature is designed to stop malware by controlling what programs can be installed, which lets you set a source-based reputation level for installed programs.

Notably absent from Mountain Lion is Siri, Apple's voice assistant feature that made its debut last October. This is curious, given that some of the OS X-supported iOS apps like Reminders and Notes work quite well with the voice-enabled controls on iPhones. Siri is not expected to join OS X before the launch of Mountain Lion, but Apple could surprise. There are also a handful of other iOS features that are missing in action for now.

And for Microsoft side, they has been developing Windows 8 while Apple is working to convince people that the best of iOS can be migrated to Mac, Microsoft is looking to convince people that Windows can be reborn with Windows 8.

The new Metro interface that is one of the hallmark features of Windows 8, is the first feature of Windows that doesn't rely on the Windows design standard for the past two decades.

This Metro interface creates a new way for people to interact with the operating system. For instance, instead of the traditional icon requiring a double-click to open a box with open, close, and minimize buttons in the corner, the Metro interface relies on a mobile-app style approach. Tap one of the tiles to open it, swipe to get into a previously-opened program, and--although this hasn't been confirmed--you'll probably have to use the Windows button or some similar mechanism to return to the Start screen. Tiles themselves are icons on steroids. They're large, and they can surface data from the app in real time.

Many of Windows 8's other changes will be under the hood. New security features like enhanced log-in options, aggressive password management, a new secure boot procedure, and built-in malware protection will make this the most secure version of Windows yet, surpassing even Windows 7's security gains.

Other changes include better Wi-Fi juggling and memory management; a new batch of Microsoft-produced apps and tighter integration with Windows Live; a much faster setup process; more robust search; improved file management; an entirely new way to re-install the operating system without losing any data; a new task manager; and more accessible to those with disabilities. Windows 8 will also run on tablets powered by ARM, and offer better battery management. No word yet if Microsoft intends the OS to handle washing your dishes, too.

Much more will be revealed about Windows 8 at the Mobile World Congress in two weeks in Barcelona, Spain. Now, Windows Phone appears to be a fine reason to have a major presence at MWC, but it wouldn't be a difficult leap to expect some serious Windows 8 desktop news at the show, such as how the nascent operating system will interact with Windows Phone devices.

Whatever the specifics of the announcements are, we can expect Windows 8 to have close ties to Windows Phone, which uses a nearly identical interface. Businesses are seriously considering the potential of Windows 8, and analysts expect the rising Windows Phone to help raise moribund companies like Nokia. Microsoft knows that it hasn't been the best life-partner, especially when you've been tempted by the iPad and iPhone, and so it's creating a unified desktop and mobile experience to romance you once more.

Great news! that five more of its Android powered smartphone from North American carriers will see a 4.0 update, according to HTC today. Although HTC has not confirmed when each smartphone will get the the update, the company has release the list of those smartphones below :
  • HTC Rhyme,
  • HTC Thunderbolt,
  • HTC Rezound,
  • Droid Incredible 2
With the confirmation of the aforementioned older models, HTC may have discovered how to apply the update despite the underlying hardware being one full generation removed from current hardware with less memory and processing power available in comparison. Should the updates be feature complete, this also means that Android 4.0 is continually being refined by manufacturers in order to remain compatible across hardware profiles.

We can see that even Android 4 is applied to those smartphone model, it has been modified to meet the hardware specs and compatibility. So you cannot enjoy the full features from Android 4.0 unless you buy one with Ice cream sandwich OS installed.

The Samsung Epic 4G Touch has a large size and bright 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. It also equipped with a dual-core Exynos 1.2GHz processor and an excellent  Camera quality.  We can tell this Android smartphone is fast and 4G-capable.

While Samsung Epic 4G Touch is still using Gingerbread Android 2.3.4, we read on Phandroid that a working leaked Android 4.0 ROM had been modded to boot with the Samsung Epic 4G Touch. This is a good progress although the ROM is not completely working.  It is a great way to see how Android 4.0 and Touchwiz will feel once the official update is released. But it has just gotten a bit better, with a more recent leak being available for download.

This one is version FB17 (while yesterday’s was FB09), and it should bring some improvements. It is still not completely functional, though. So be careful, do your reading, and remember the typical disclaimer (you could harm your device and void your warranty, and if something happens, no one is responsible for it).

From the video below we can see that the process of modding is just the same. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch ROM has to be flashed via Odin. The full instructions and files are at ACSyndicate, so better check it out first! Also you can find two videos explaining the instruction steps and the review.

The operating system Google Android  for now  has emerged the discourse of the presence of version 5.0, which will be labelled "Jelly Bean". When we take look back, the presence of previous version Android 4.0 also known as "Ice Cream Sandwich" is just appeared at the end of  2011 to the public. But we can say that is how the technology development should be, which is rapidly growing with presenting a lot of improvements and updates.

According the appropriate data analysis that the Android market is still very small percentage, the  ICS is just 1%. This is very reasonable considering the Android version is still very new, also with device compatibility is still very limited. But Google seems to have started to prepare the successor Android 5.0 aka Jelly Bean, which approximately would slide on 2nd quarter 2012 (Q2).

Based on the DigiTimes, Android 5.0 Jelly Bean will be built to bring further optimization to devices with a wider screen such as tablets, notebooks and computers.

One of the main new features of Android 5.0 Jelly Bean is the ability to dual-boot with Chrome OS. This means the Jelly Bean later would be more acceptable to markets, in particular by the computer manufacturer. And when you see the success of Asus Transformers Prime, apparently prospective future discourse appears to create a portable computer with a reliable performance plus extra long battery life.

So whatever the result later,  we are sure that Android 5.0 Jelly Bean would offer many benefits and advantages and Google  should also think about the fate of the later Google device-Android devices which still operated with older versions of the Android OS, in order to keep remain comfortable and not to be forgotten.

The last news we heard from HTC was the announcement of the range of HTC smartphone devices that it would be get updates for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Android 4.0 is the last version of Android OS for mobile devices from Google which has many interesting features, such as face recognition, no physical button, faster performance, etc.  HTC smartphone devices lineup included the entire HTC Sensation line (XE, XL, and 4G), followed by the Rezound, Amaze 4G, and new EVOs (Design 4G and 3D).

Today, HTC has announced (also on its Facebook page) some further timing on just when devices will get those updates, and a few more devices making the cut.

First to the fray will be the HTC Sensation series (XE, XL, 4G, and sans moniker), which will get their ICS update before the end of March. Other devices getting an ICS update will see their update by a slightly more ambiguous and underwhelming "later this year." It's nice to see HTC committing to a date here, even though it's only for the Sensation line of devices. Hopefully as updates for the rest of the lineup draw closer those respective phones will see update timelines as well.

HTC also added a few more devices to its official list, which brings the tally to the following:

HTC Sensation (XE, XL, 4G, and sans moniker)
HTC Rezound
HTC Vivid
HTC Amaze 4G
HTC EVO 3D
HTC EVO Design 4G
HTC Incredible S
HTC Desire S
HTC Desire HD

As Android smartphones are getting more advanced technology and many vendors adapt this Android OS to their products, Nokia has tried to catch the train before they left far behind. By the releasing of Nokia N9,
a good phone which is Nokia's One of the "iPhone killer". But the latest news about some things related to  MeeGo software support will probably make the Nokia N9 phone is left lonely in the future.

The Nokia N9 is designed to be the main products in an effort to "the revival" Nokia brand name. It is quite successful considering the phone is designed in such a way that it looks pretty simple, but still look smart. The idea of magnitude is present with a touch screen phone to minimize the involvement of a button. There are only found two buttons on this phone, the power button and the volume button. Anyway you control the rest from the screen.

The weakness there is no battery cover because the battery is planted on the body and no external memory slot, because this phone carries only the internal memory with a choice of 16 and 64 GB. So you cannot use a microSIM card for storage media.

The screen is pretty nice with 3.9-inch AMOLED clear black, 16:9, 854 x 480 pixels, capacitive touchscreen, covered with Gorilla Glass, 16.7 million colors. The screen itself brings AMOLED technology (ClearBlack) with a capacitive sensor. Black base color AMOLED able to present a more brilliant color display, as well as the contrast is great and looks well with black trim color on each side of the screen. When the screen is off, you can see there is a widespread impression screen. As with other AMOLED screen, there is no difficulty in enjoying the display of this phone under bright day.

Lets bring the Nokia N9 specs :

  • the PowerVR SGX530 GPU,

  • Li-Ion Battery 1450 mAh (BV-5JW)
The Nokia N9 processor, Cortex A8 CPU, run a single core clock speed 1 GHz and for the graphics, it uses SGX530 PowerVR GPU. Although powered by a single core processor, there are some aspects that show rapid performance in N9. Whether because of the effectiveness of hardware to software, or because there is an additional 1GB of RAM that supports this phone work.

The other features are
Software MeeGo for Nokia N9 (1.2 MeeGo Harmattan),
the Nokia Store,
Ovi Music,
Nokia Maps,
Driver,
Document Viewer,
HTML 5,
GPS,

Nokia find the right OS as a means of "wakes up" from the left behind on the development of other smart phones, the Nokia build phones and look for an OS that could compete with the Android, BlackBerry and IOS. Nokia for this reason has choose MeeGo OS. But after some time, Nokia is finally made a deal with Microsoft and  would choose Windows Phone OS as an OS for its products.

The Use MeeGo on the Nokia finally stopped. Officially according  to the statement of Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, Nokia announced that they will not be using Linux-based OS in its products. That's it, the support for OS applications and games on the N9 MeeGo sequel would be called into question. With only one MeeGo-based products in Nokia, Nokia will provide full support for the mobile phone?

 • 8 megapixel camera
 • Divx / Vidx

The WiFi connection security in several HTC smartphones is threatened by the discovery of bug (software defects). The Wi-Fi security bug that allows any application to access permissions ACCESS_WIFI_STATE (similar notification of the application before you install), which not only checks the status of WiFi, but also get access password code WiFi is.

The HTC smartphones  which are  reported to have a bug are
  • HTC Desire HD,
  • HTC T-Mobile MyTouch 4G,
  • HTC Desire S,
  • HTC Sensation,
  • HTC EVO 3D,
  • HTC DROID Incredible and
  • HTC Thunderbolt 4G.
The HTC engineer has been  responding to these software bug and  claimed that  HTC has found the software defect solution, although still limited to a mobile phone. But the other software defect  solutions mentioned will be provided manually, through the facilities update.

For information, a bug was found in the related WiFi September 2011 by a pair of security researchers, who then contact Google and HTC. However, since it kept up to date, in which several solutions have been found. If you are the owner of a HTC smart phone which has the bug problem, please just visit the HTC website starting next week.Who knew the HTC is providing a solution to patch the defective update.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is coming this year and Samsung is successfully sold the Galaxy SII over 10 million units in 2011. The Galaxy SIII is the next generation to continue the success of Galaxy SII. There are rumors with a many of speculation about the Galaxy SIII device upcoming release.

A high-end Android smartphones these days support HD displays 720P and so is Samsung Galaxy SIII. 2012 figures to be the year of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as Eldar Murtazin says that the Samsung Galaxy SIII device will be running Ice Cream Sandwich.

Unlike the Galaxy Nexus though, the Galaxy S III will likely feature Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface which is both loved and hated by the mobile community. The TouchWiz experience on the Galaxy S II wasn’t terrible and unless Samsung really manages to screw things up, it should work well on the Galaxy S III.

Rumors have been flying around about the Samsung Galaxy S III’s release date and unfortunately, we still don’t have a good release window locked down.

When Eldar Murtazin revealed what he had heard about the Galaxy S III is coming with these specs :
- Quad-core Exynos clocked at 1.5 Ghz or 1.6 Ghz,
- Super AMOLED 720p display,
- Fast connection 4G LTE,
- RAM 2 GB,
- 12 MP Camera
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
And also he stated that the phone was supposedly going to be announced at the MWC with a release coming in April.

Right now, we have a couple of different scenarios in regards to the device’s release date:
- The first rumor the Galaxy S III’s release as being March 18th, in Turkey. Of the three, this is the least credible.
- The second rumor has the Galaxy S III still arriving in April. The source, Eldur Murtazin of course. The guy is fixated on April and who know, maybe he’s right.
- The last whisper has Samsung launching the Galaxy S III somewhere around the Summer Olympics.

A Samsung executive claimed that the company would be tying in a major product launch with its sponsorship of the Games and the Galaxy S III just might be that product.

Let’s assume that the device is going to come in two flavors. HSPA+ for T-Mobile and LTE for the rest of the American carriers. If that’s the case, we can pull in some history to make some guesses.

Today, Google Docs application, an online and free word processing for Android has received an update with many new additions and improvements to offline mode and display for tablet pc device users.

The offline mode is the main thing of this update. Setting a document for offline use has the same way as offline mode in Google Music. So you have the file you want to access to offline mode from menu item in each file, and then the file will be downloaded.

Since the document was downloaded to be edited is not like the music file which just to be synchronized, there are some more options. You can edit, rename, and starred in the offline file, and any changes made will be synchronized automatically when the device is connected to the Internet. You can also manage documents for offline and see when the document was last edited.

The next update is just a minor update, which improves the reading experience on Android tablet. This means the document is no longer open phone-friendly layout, but more to better layout designed for the tablet.

Unfortunately the new layout is only available for reading documents, and if you go to edit menu, the layout will return to the previous layout. There are also adding new gestures, where you can swipe the screen to change pages.

Anyone can try this application, just visit the Android Market.
