Great news! that five more of its Android powered smartphone from North American carriers will see a 4.0 update, according to HTC today. Although HTC has not confirmed when each smartphone will get the the update, the company has release the list of those smartphones below :
- HTC Rhyme,
- HTC Thunderbolt,
- HTC Rezound,
- Droid Incredible 2
With the confirmation of the aforementioned older models, HTC may have discovered how to apply the update despite the underlying hardware being one full generation removed from current hardware with less memory and processing power available in comparison. Should the updates be feature complete, this also means that Android 4.0 is continually being refined by manufacturers in order to remain compatible across hardware profiles.
We can see that even Android 4 is applied to those smartphone model, it has been modified to meet the hardware specs and compatibility. So you cannot enjoy the full features from Android 4.0 unless you buy one with Ice cream sandwich OS installed.
