Today, Google Docs application, an online and free word processing for Android has received an update with many new additions and improvements to offline mode and display for tablet pc device users.

The offline mode is the main thing of this update. Setting a document for offline use has the same way as offline mode in Google Music. So you have the file you want to access to offline mode from menu item in each file, and then the file will be downloaded.

Since the document was downloaded to be edited is not like the music file which just to be synchronized, there are some more options. You can edit, rename, and starred in the offline file, and any changes made will be synchronized automatically when the device is connected to the Internet. You can also manage documents for offline and see when the document was last edited.

The next update is just a minor update, which improves the reading experience on Android tablet. This means the document is no longer open phone-friendly layout, but more to better layout designed for the tablet.

Unfortunately the new layout is only available for reading documents, and if you go to edit menu, the layout will return to the previous layout. There are also adding new gestures, where you can swipe the screen to change pages.

Anyone can try this application, just visit the Android Market.
