Nokia recently announced their financial results for Q1 2012. And, it looks not so good. The Division of Nokia smartphones indeed are going through the most difficult time, due to a decrease in sales of Symbian Smartphone, and the Android Smartphone is rushing their way..

Recently Samsung announces their financial results for Q1 contrary with Nokia achievement in Q1 which ended on 31 March. According to sources from the Tabloidpulsa and SAMMYHub, Samsung scored revenues of 45.27 trillion won, increased 22% YoY (Year of Year). Consolidated business profit reached 5,85 trillion won (98% up YoY) and consolidated net profit amounted to 5,05 trillion won.

Even there is a decrease in Samsung's seasonal sales of semiconductors and Televisions, due to the sales of their smartphones and high screen panel, the quarterly profits can be achieved.

Samsung has now exceeded the Nokia as a big mobile phone producers in the world. Samsung has ended Nokia's 14-year mobile phone domination with their 93,5 million units mobile phones global shipping last quarter. It definitely is larger than Nokia, which limited 82,7 million units.

Galaxy smartphone sales in the last quarter became a new trend of mobile phone from high end to low end users globally. As information about 44.5% of Samsung phone that is shipped is a smartphones. In fact, that number surpassed Apple, which is limited to 35.1%  smartphones.

HTC would seem to follow in the footsteps of Samsung and Apple to develop their own mobile device processor.

According to a report from China Times, it is mentioned that the Taiwan origin HTC manufacture has signed a memorandum of cooperation  with ST-Ericsson to develop a brand new processor chip which is will be used on HTC's low-end smartphones next in 2013.

There are some reasons for HTC to develop their own processor. This joint venture will help HTC to reduce their dependence on Qualcomm processor and an NVDIA which are currently adopted in many of HTC Smartphone products.

Also that HTC is reporting lower selling than expected for its first quarter, and could include a whopping 36% drop in revenue when compared to Q1 of last year. Revenue in the last 3 months fell from around 101 billion Taiwanese dollars to around 66 billion (OUCH).
Samsung on the other hand, has reported record profits for the 4th quarter of 2011, and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon
In the last five months HTC's market share is reported to have declined by more than 60%. It is thus making the smartphone manufacturer boards to rethink the strategies that will be done in the future.

HTC focus during this time was their desire in the high-end smartphones  market share  and it may be perceived as the cause of the decline in sales of smartphones.

Good news for Samsung Galaxy Nexus's users. According to information from AndroidCentral, some smartphones already got minor software update to Android version 4.0.4. Some of build numbers are in the range of IMM76D to IMM761.

Till now there has been no official information about the  benefits of this minor software update for GSM version of this Galaxy Nexus. But there are some Nexus's users, who already got update to Android v 4.0.4 reported some improvements like fixed of lost signal, which is found at IMM76D. Another improvement mentioned is the lock screen problem which was originally quite a bit of lag when enabling  the auto brightness.

When we take a look  at Google's developer site, that they still provides pictures from the manufacturer that has not shown screenshoot of image of updates for v 4.0.4 and for the latest version is still the build number IMM76D Only.

This software update should be pushed out to GSM Galaxy Nexus owners over the next few weeks, if earlier release patterns are anything to go by. If you want to manually update (and have the "yakju" variant of the Galaxy Nexus), you can follow our usual instructions to do so, swapping out the old OTA URL for this link right here.

It most likely this software updates for Galaxy Nexus would spread globally in the next few weeks. Or, it could be also faster.
