Again, another breakthrough from Samsung, S-Voice. It is the latest feature on a Samsung smartphone, particularly paired on Samsung  Galaxy S III, where its function is similar to Siri on Apple iPhone 4S which S-Voice will give answers to all questions from users via voice.

Thise amazing features on the Samsung Galaxy S III, S-Voice, has been successfully hacked by a member of XDA Developer forum.

Right now the feature S-Voice, can be installed in any Android Ice Cream sandwich OS Smartphone. Howerver it just has not yet to be ascertained whether this S-Voice application  can run perfectly just like on Samsung  Galaxy S III.

This amazing feature, S-Voice, now has been made available in the form of files to APK (Android Application Package). That means the S-Voice feature in Samsung  Galaxy S III  can also be installed by users of Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone.

The Android operating system is known to provide facilities to its users, even let users make some rooting for their smartphone. Some user have been successfully root new smartphone even prior the time to be launched. One of the latest smartphone is Samsung Galaxy SIII, who had been successfully rooted  around 11 days prior the time to be launched.

This successfully process of Samsung Galaxy S III  rooting  had been posted in the  xda-developers forum by Chainfire, a developer of Android Operating System.

Actually Samsung seems to make it very easy for developers to open and do root for this new flagship phones, easier than other Samsung Galaxy models, so Chainfire give his credit to Samsung for this simple root efforts.

This rooting simplicity is not given by some other Android Smartphones vendors. Some vendors like HTC and Motorola had not been provide the facilities of easily rooting in some their smartphone products.

Samsung right now is very enthusiastic in the smartphone manufacture industry. So far they have made smartphones with various platform, ranging from Bada, Android and Windows Phone. Even the newest, the vendors from Korea is having its execution with the Tizen platform, the new operating system as results in their collaboration with Intel.

As for the Windows Phone platform, not long ago Samsung introduces new product labelled I8350 Omnia M and it is using Windows Phone 7.5 refresh  operating system. Uniquely, it is known that this smartphone is a version of ' cheap ' aka downgrade of Samsung Omnia W.

Samsung I8350 Omnia M brings 4 inches Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution , also it is powered with a 1 GHz processor single-core. Memory capacity RAM 384 MB RAM him, which will be supported by 4 GB of internal memory to store a variety of data files as well as multimedia. Samsung Omnia M adopts dual camera. Resolution 5 MP in the back, as the main camera. Meanwhile, on the front attached to a VGA camera, to run video call feature. The main camera record has VGA sized video files dimensions. From the side of connectivity, Omnia 3 g technologies rely on M 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.

Well, since the features of Samsung I8350 Omnia M was a notch below the Omnia W, then the price will be cheaper at 220 Euro.

Most of high end smartphones use Amoled screen, a display technology for use in mobile devices. However Amoled screen has a performance problems when viewed outdoor under bright sun thus in fact, the first mobile phone that uses AMOLED screen is almost unusable outdoors.

As the development of Amoled technology is growing, it's weakness was eventually repaired. We can see when the Super Amoled screen Samsung was introduced with outdoors visibility significantly better, and today Amoled display exceeds the LCD when viewed under sunlight.

The Amoled screen technology also adopted in Nokia in their high end smartphones.  Interestingly, although Samsung and Nokia both use the same screen technology, it does not mean the ability of the screen is the same.

DisplayMate had them compared on the visibility test. The results indicated that the Amoled screen on Nokia Lumia 900 with Clear Black Display technology turns out to have excellent performance under bright sunlight when compared with Galaxy S and iPhone 4.

The results of the visibility test of Lumia 900 has highest points, 90,  beat the Super Amoled Samsung Galaxy S with 80 points, and the Apple iPhone 4 sitting in third position with 77 points.

The question is, why DisplayMate chose to compare the Nokia Lumia 900 with two smartphones aged 2 years older, like the Galaxy S and iPhone 4. Although there are a few new phones which make more sense to be compared with Nokia Lumia 900, like HTC One X and Galaxy S III for example.

2012 is a breakthrough year for the mobile device industry, with so many amazing high technology smartphones to choose from. Sometimes we find it hard to decide which one is the right smartphone for us.

This year is a big leap for Android devices, with many flagship smarphones are making the jump from dual core processors to quad core architecture. There are a lot of people are looking to buy or upgrade their devices in 2012 to quad core Android smartphones. Just for your buying information, here are  the five most popular quad core Android devices.

  1. Samsung Galaxy S III (To be released on May 29th in Europe and June in US). Get into the quad core technology simply by follow Samsungs newest offering. The device was the followup to the most successful Android device of all time, Samsung Galaxy S I. It was introduced last week in London, and . The device has an Exynos 4412 quad core processor, an 8MP camera, 1 Gb of RAM, a wider 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display, and is the most anticipated device of 2012.
  2. HTC One X (Available in most markets now). This was the first quad core Android phone tohit the market, and announced with at Mobile World Congress, and has certainly made a well big attraction in the mobile tech world. The device is using a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, an 8MP camera, 1 Gb of RAM, and a beautiful 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD2 display. So if your looking for a quad core device with plenty of gaming power, the HTC One X is definetely not bad choice.
  3. Huawei Ascend D Quad (To be released in Q3 2012). Huawei announced a new phone and tablet, but a new quad core architecture that the company created just for its new devices. It runs with the Huawei K3V2 Quad-Core Processor that supposedly outperforms Tegra 3 by leaps and bounds. It also has an 8MP BSI camera, 1 Gb of RAM, and a 4.5 inch LCD-IPS display, 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound with Dolby Mobile 3.0 Plus.
  4. LG Optimus 4X HD (Expected June/July release). LG's first quad core smartphone is LG Optimus 4X HD . It run with The Tegra 3 quad core with 1Gb of RAM. The design wise looks very similiar to the Galaxy S2, and spec wise is very similiar to the HTC One X. If LG keeps it's pricing competitive and gets better when it comes to updates, it could do very well in multiple markets.
  5. Google Nexus Device 2012/2013. Who will make this device or when it will release, not known yet. however it seem will be a hot release for 2012/2013. Will Samsung or HTC or LG are all in the running for the device, and that the phone will most likely be the first to debut Android Jellybean. There is no details info on specs, but the device will most likely be a quad core device with no physical buttons and stock Android. Hopefully we'll learn more details about the next Nexus in the coming months.
There are lots smartphones to choose from if you're aiming to go quad core, and while these are not the only quad core devices being introduced this year, they are bringing most noise to the world. Me my self definitely will go for Samsung Galaxy S III as right now Samsung is the leader of smartphone in the world beside Apple. So which one you want to buy?

HTC would seem to follow in the footsteps of Samsung and Apple to develop their own mobile device processor.

According to a report from China Times, it is mentioned that the Taiwan origin HTC manufacture has signed a memorandum of cooperation  with ST-Ericsson to develop a brand new processor chip which is will be used on HTC's low-end smartphones next in 2013.

There are some reasons for HTC to develop their own processor. This joint venture will help HTC to reduce their dependence on Qualcomm processor and an NVDIA which are currently adopted in many of HTC Smartphone products.

Also that HTC is reporting lower selling than expected for its first quarter, and could include a whopping 36% drop in revenue when compared to Q1 of last year. Revenue in the last 3 months fell from around 101 billion Taiwanese dollars to around 66 billion (OUCH).
Samsung on the other hand, has reported record profits for the 4th quarter of 2011, and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon
In the last five months HTC's market share is reported to have declined by more than 60%. It is thus making the smartphone manufacturer boards to rethink the strategies that will be done in the future.

HTC focus during this time was their desire in the high-end smartphones  market share  and it may be perceived as the cause of the decline in sales of smartphones.

In 2012, the world will not hear the name Sony Ericsson again. On October 27, 2011, Sony announced that it would acquire Ericsson's stake in Sony Ericsson for €1.05 billion ($1.47 billion), making the mobile handset business a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony. The transaction's completion is expected to occur in January 2012.  At their keynote at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, Sony's Kaz Hirai announced that Sony Ericsson would now be known simply as Sony Mobile Communications. In the future, a mobile device division directly under the Sony and no longer use the name of Sony Ericsson, but only "Sony" only. Earlier this year, precisely at the International Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2012, Sony finally introduced their first smartphone. This smartphone named Sony Xperia S.

Sony Xperia S comes with the Android operating system. Unfortunately, these devices are still not using the latest Android operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Xperia S still use Android version 2.3 or Gingerbread. However, Sony ensures that the Ginger bread can be updated to ICS.

Sony Xperia S comes with high specification that is very capable. Sony Xperia S uses Qualcomm processor 1.5 GHz Dual-Core. In addition, Sony's first smartphone will use Reality Display screen measuring 4.3 inches which has been equipped with mobile technology BRAVIA Engine HD resolution (1280 x 720).

This smartphone is equipped with a camera 12 megapixel Exmor R. berteknologikan In addition, the camera in the smartphone has a feature Fastest Capture to take a picture directly in just 1.5 seconds from standby mode. Xperia S is also equipped with a front camera that has a 1.3 megapixel resolution.

In addition, the Sony Xperia S also comes with a feature called Near Field Communication (NFC) which allows you to share content between each other.

Sony Xperia S will begin shipping in the first quarter of this year. There will be two models for this smartphone, which is 16 GB and 32 GB. Unfortunately, the Sony Xperia S not accompanied by a selection of other additional storage capacity. Prices of these products are also still not been announced.

Righ now everybody loves faster performance on their smartphone or tablet pc. So do you want your gadget work faster? There is one thing you can do, just simply upgrade your mobile device MicroSD

Smartphone user frequently encounter slow loading process performance when running the applications installed on the SD card or data transferred to SD card.  Sometimes this happens when running the game application, especially those large size applications, this could be a annoying problem. Well in these conditions, the game will do the loading from the SD card again and again, especially during scene changes.

The best solution to this problem is to upgrade the SD card (MicroSD). Generally smartphones use the standard SD card which is slow on performance.

According to jagatreview.com they used to test the speed of standard SD card on Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc with Class10 Kingston MicroSDHC 16GB and standard MicroSD Class10 on the test. The test results are :
  • Read speed increased slightly on Class10 Kingston MicroSDHC 16GB compared to a standard MicroSD.
  • The write speed of Class10 Kingston MicroSDHC 16GB improved significantly compared to a standard MicroSD
  • Class10 Kingston MicroSDHC successfully deliver improved write performance up to 4x
  • The copy process into smartphones are now working more smoothly on Class10 Kingston MicroSDHC 16GB, without a hitch.
So we can tell that an upgrade from MicroSDHC to Class10 MicroSD in fact provide adequate performance that much different. Now your smartphone can work more smoothly, especially when accessing files in the SD card. In that test previously before the upgrade, they had encountered slow performance problems several times during the video recording with HD resolution (720p). But within a week of testing, none of  720p video recording interrupted or stalled. We just imagine, if this smartphone can record 1080p video, MicroSD Class10 certainly will become a necessity.

So If you are using Android smartphone or tablet, an upgrade to the microSDHC Class10 will be a very recommended. Class10 MicroSDHC current price not too far  than class4 or class6. However, you may consider a long-term advantages of this upgrade. However this upgrade does not affect the speed of MicroSD app that is in the internal memory.

2012 will be the year of new smartphone and tablet pc with new technology like Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Windows Phone OS, Tegra 3 quad core chip, and many more. Some vendors are planning to release their new mobile devices on 2012. Thus, there are new player in this mobile devices market like Acer, Asus, Panasonic, Dell which tried to compete with big players such as Apple, Samsung, Sony Erricson, Nokia, HTC, Motorola.

We can tell that according on information from netbooknews.com site, Asus is reportedly preparing new smartphone called Padfone and arranged to be exhibited during the event MWC 2012 in February. It also written that Padfone will not be powered by Qualcomm Krait S4 as has been seen in previous benchmark tests but it will be using the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core chip, just the same as the Asus Transformer Prime.

As we already know, Asus Padfone has appeared in the results of benchmark tests in November 2011 ago.The test results are use the Krait S4 that Padfone MSM8960 from Qualcomm SoC technology. With the chip should be able to use the connection Padfone HSPA + and LTE plus a GPU Adreno 225.

Well it is just like Apple with IOS, Nokia with Symbian, Samsung as a big mobile devices company has develop an Operating System for its mobile devices called Bada. As far as we know Samsung bada is a smartphone platform , which is developed for many kind of devices, launched in 2010.

We can tell that "bada" is a Korean word that means "ocean" and "seashore". "bada" OS can accommodate the various applications created by developers and it provides an interesting new space that offers amazing enjoyment to its users. bada is a new blue ocean of mobile applications for developers, and customers will have a wider choice of smartphones with cost-effective yet powerful bada-powered phones.

While Bada OS supports a wide range of devices, it is also powerful enough to turn your imagination into powerful applications. With high end devices such as Samsung Wave II and Wave, Bada OS fully utilizes the power of hardware for the ultimate application experience. Even with mid-range or cost-effective models, it also provides powerful features for better application experiences.

Bada OS has features like plenty of UI controls, Flash support, sensors support help applications to be more interactive and offer customers a richer, more interactive experience. Samsung Bada latest version is Ver.2, which is very similar with Android Froyo. But Android has more applications than Bada and  Bada is more exclusive for high end mobile devices. Samsung Wave with Bada OS has better material built in and fancy look.

An unexpected incident reportedly occurred on a flight in Australia, when suddenly smoke comes out from passenger's iPhone 4 and a red light like a bright fire shining out from it while on the aircraft. This incident occurred on board a Regional Express flight ZL319 to Sydney.

There are reported no staff and passengers who were injured in that incident. While the device is expected is the iPhone 4 has been submitted to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to be investigated.

Feeling left far behind from its competitors, Acer as famous notebook company is rumored to have started selling its first smartphone named Acer Allegro, based on Windows Phone OS on the European market . As we know that Acer's competitor like Nokia, Samsung, HTC and LG has been starting to bring Windows Phone OS based on their smartphone available in international market and Europe in particular.

Acer Allegro is a first generation smartphone produced by Acer based on Windows Phone. Acer plans to bring the first Allegro in December 2011, but an online retail sites in France Rue du Commerce has sell it with a price tag of 284.05 euros, or about USD 3.4 million.

We can tell that the price of Acer Allegro is very attractive, when compared with its competitor price of Nokia Lumia 800 to 420 Euros. Acer Allegro has specifications as follows:
  • TFT capacitive touchscreen,
  • 16M colors,
  • 8GB of internal memory with an additional micro sd slot that can top up to 32GB,
  • 1 GHz Snapdragon processor,
  • Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset
We hope this will be an advantage for user if the competition of smartphone makes plenty of choices with affordable prices we can get.

People with busy time likes to do something efficiently. Also there are time when they are in hurry to print some documents from their smartphone directly to printer without using a computer. Apple iPhone is one of the smartphone that able to print directly to printer. For Android user also can do the same thing with their smartphone. There is an application named "PrinterShare" developed by Mobile Dynamix to help android user to print document directly from their smartphone with 2 mode, Nearby and Remote.

To do Nearby print mode you have to install this PrinterShare application into Android smartphone. Make sure that the printer is already has WiFi feature on. The PrinterShare application will detect the printer and there you go!  it is ready to print.

However if the printer does not have WiFi feature on it, you can use Nearby mode via PC which already has been installed with PrinterShare desktop client. The tricks is as follows:

  1. Install PrinterShare into Android device
  2. Make sure the computer and the printer was connected, including setting and ready for use,
  3. Install the PrinterShare desktop client on a computer
  4. On the PrinterShare desktop client application on computer, look for the printer on list Local Printers and click Share.
  5. The Android devices with PrinterShare on it will directly detect the printer share.
If you have a wifi connection, you can use the Remote mode. How it works is pretty much the same with the Nearby mode, it's just that in this mode you will use the internet as an intermediary between Android and the computer. The trick is as follows:
  1. Make sure the computer and the android device already installed PrinterShare.
  2. On the PrinterShare client desktop application on computer , look for the printer being used on list Local Printers and click Share.
  3. On Android device, click Menu-> Printers-> create Remote User ID. User ID can be found on the upper left corner of the desktop client PrinterShare.
  4. Furthermore all devices are ready to print. When selecting the files to print, desktop client issued a notification, click the New job-> Print. Notification steps necessary to prevent other users from accessing the printer.
  5. the next step indicates that a Remote device could send files on the desktop other clients around the world. Example, if you does not have a printer at home, you can ask your friends anywhere to help you to print through their computer.

As we know the software technology is growing so rapidly especially the Operating System software of Mobile gadget like smartphone and tablet PC. Many vendor has trying to update their Operating System software for their next gen gadget. So the user has option to upgrade to the updated OS.

We can tell that Android OS is more reliable and most of smartphone vendors are using it. So the Android user often heard of word "root". Actually it is more like Administrator user account in Microsoft windows or Linux whose has the right of all the access of software.

The process of getting into root in Android system is called rooting. Every gadget has different ways to get into root or rooting. Some of applications like z4root, Super One Click, Unrevoked, Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, Terminal Emulator etc can be used to rooting process in Android system or it depends on its each vendor.

As user with root acces can do following with their Android gadget.

  1. Can update the Android version without having to wait for the official version came out. Luckily for us because there are a lot of people who develop custom Rom on Android so that we can easily install custom Roms to the device.
  2. Can overclock to maximize the performance of the processor or undervolt to minimize performance processor in order to save battery life.
  3. Can install applications to your sdcard (not the app2sd feature on froyo)
  4. Able to use applications that require root privileges, such as MarketEnabler (to display the application in the Market paid), ShootMe (for screen capture), and more
  5. And it's all up to you as a user with the highest access rights.

The touch screen is available in most of gadget today and user demand for sharp, clear, bright and high definition resolution with small and medium size LCD panels for Smartphones and tablet PCs is growing so fast more than ever. Many vendors is trying to bring the next gen technology to the screen of their gadget to satisfied the user.

The IGZO technology brought by Sharp intends to offer the CG silicon LCDs for applications that require resolution of more than 300 pixels per inch and IGZO LCDs for applications requiring high resolution but not so high as 300 ppi.

As Apple Corp always one step ahead from its competitor to make their new gadget, recently they were intended to use the IZGO technology from SHARP for the next generation of iPad and iPhone to bring 330 ppi on the screen beside the Retina Display technology.

This IGZO technology , they said is more out performance the HD screen with IPS technology on iPad and iPhone right now and that certainly makes the point of view is more wider than ever now.

After all the most interesting is that SHARP claimed the IGZO technology will have lower power consumption, lower production cost and only 25 % thicker than OLED technology. Thus the next iPad and iPhone will give the user more amazing experience and save the battery life.

Having dual SIM card on one mobile phone is not a problem anymore. People who live in Indonesia sometimes has more than one SIM card due to different network signal of each place. One of dual SIM card mobile phone with Android OS is LG Optimus Dual SIM P698.

LG Optimus Dual SIM P698 has some good features :
3G 900/2100 MHz ,GPRS/EDGE
Processor 800 MHz, GPU Adreno 200, Qualcomm MSM7227T chipset
3.2 inch Capasitive Touch Screen TFT 320 x 480 pixel,
Internal Memory 150MB, 512 RAM
Camera 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixel, with Auto focus
Android v 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) Operating System
Li-Ion 1500 mAh Battery

This Smartphone has good clean screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixel which bright and wide enough to see even from different angle. But the use of capasitive touch screen might be little old fashion technology. The capasitive touch screen has good clear display even under the light day. Some expert say that this touch screen is very smooth and sensitive with finger touch without pressure. However it does not support stylus, or even when we use glove, the screen cannot be operate. So users with long nail finger might have difficulty to operate handle it.

The camera with 3.15 MP and auto focus is sharp and clear enough to take a picture shoot and records video. Unfortunately this does not equipped with flash light to use under low light / dark places. Another camera features are ISO, White Balance, Color Effect, Timer, Image Quality, Auto Review, Shutter Sound, Tag Location, Zoom, Brightness, Scene, Image Size, which might be useful.

LG Optimus Dual SIM P698 with Android OS also can play MP3 and video with standard applications. The MP3 player can be operate under lock screen too. So it really helpful to pick the song whenever we want. Also the video recording with standard VGA resolution 640 x 480  is clear enough even indoor or outdoor.

Pros
Good Dual SIM capability
Big Battery capacity
Smooth and Clear display

Cons
Small internal memory capacity
No Flash light.

All this 2011 year we have been introduced by so many new high end gadget from famous vendors. This phenomena is might be going to happen again in 2012. With all high technology from OS softwares to high end processor and GPU, most of all really shocked us. Thus the gadgets will be more fun and faster with eye candy graphics overall made world simply getting so small.

It starts from Nvidia with its quad core processor comes out to high end smartphone like Motorola, HTC etc. Recently the rumors comes out from Samsung as the most innovative vendors with its Quad Core Processor Exynos 4212. This quad core processor Exynos 4212 is containing 32 nm chip quad-core ARM Cortex A9 1.5 GHz speed. Thus this will be 20% lower power used and 50% faster graphics performance.

We might think that Samsung will use this quad core Exynos 4212 to be equipped with Samsung Galaxy SIII soon. Also there is Mali-T604 GPU, a next gen GPU built by Samsung, to be expected 5 times faster than its predecessor. We hope that Samsung would combine these new technologies with longer battery life better than its big competitor also. This Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to be launched next year in February 2012. We might want to check that later soon.
